I thought I'd pass this along from Digital Photography Review. The link will take you to an interview with a digital photographer whose work might prove to be of interest to members of this list.

For myself, I doubt this is or ever could be photography, rather more like digital "image making." The results may be judged good or bad. I find them impressionistic but not new or even fresh in their attempt at concept; DPR's view (and that of a couple of writers for Shutterbug) runs counter to mine. I find that as no great surprise--we live in an age where it is felt necessary in many quarters to present the Latest and Greatest! thing in order to . . . whatever.

To be fair, I look at myself as a workman, not an artist. My view of subjects, and subsequent treatment of the work they inspire, is influenced heavily by a documentary eye. There could be bias here, but I'm not sure. Also, I don't say this work is bad but relatively unimportant to me.

I had already seen it. Not tempted to look at it again. :-) Which may be the test of good photography.
