I guess I'm a gearhead today. This past week I got the camera into a
concert, no problem. I moved around freely and had a seatback available a
few times for propping up a lens barrel. The 135 was too short and f/2.8 in
a longer lens would have been a big help.

In today's new K.E.H. paper catalog of used gear, I found two manual focus
super-teles. One "Nikkor" and one "Zuiko". Can anyone explain why the
Nikkor is so much cheaper? Somebody, please tell me I'm comaring apples and
oranges!

180 f/2.8 Nikkor AI EX+ (condition) $449
180 f/2.8 Zuiko EX+ (condition) $599

More to the point, I don't want anything is EX+ condition. In the used
Nikon department I would have these additional choices:

180 f/2.8 AI (auto-indexing) BGN (condition) $199
180 f/2.8 AI (auto-indexing) EX (condition) $364

Holy cow! 180/2.8 for $199? The N80 meters with AI lenses, right? (Not
matrix though-not a big deal.) And I could ebay my 90 Series1 macro and buy
one for the same money in a AI, right? Oh. Oh no. No, no. No. Must be
strong.

Wavering,
Lama
