Thanks to all who contributed to the namethattune question. As reported,
it's Wave, or Vou te Contar by Antonio Carlos Jobim. I've found a couple of
samples on the net. I listened to the Jobim recording sample, but it wasn't
what I remembered, though obviously it is the song. After listening to
Sergio Mendez's Fool on the Hill and Girl from Ipanema, I believe that my
memory is based on his music. He did record it on his Equinox album, but I
haven't found a sample of that. It is due for re-issue. Hopefully there will
then be a sample of it on Amazon.
Thanks again to all who helped. That's one burning question that's now been
quenched!
