If you use SLRs other than OMs, the OM2000 shouldn't be any trouble. The body shares a lot internally with the Cosina made Voightlander Bessas. Compared to the OM-1, it adds the spot meter, 1/125th sec x-synch, 1/2000 top speed and mirror/aperture pre-fire. The finder has a smaller image and less coverage than the OM-1 & 2. and no interchangeable screens. It doesn't take winders, MD, and many other OM accessories. It is clearly the best Oly for intentional multiple exposures with the little lever that disables the film transport while winding the shutter.

No encouragement or discouragement, 'just the facts'.

Hi addicts,
There are several places on the Net that sell refurbished OM 2000. I know that you do
not like it because of the controls placement and the "plastics" feel, but I
heard good things about the spot metering and considering it, but not convinced yet.
Now, how dangerous is to buy a refurbished manual camera? How dangerous is to
buy an OM 2000? Any discouragement gladly appreciated.
