If you can find a good example of the 65-200 (no zoom 'creep', no element
separation, no internal haze), look no further.
If you like the 70-210 range, try a Tamron SP 70-210 3.5 (constant, the
later one) model 19AH, which has a hood system that varies with the zoom to
give better coverage at long focal lengths, has a constant aperture, and
gave very good results in Gary Reese's tests.

expect to bid/pay. I'm also looking at a Vivitar in person. Everything
seems OK with the exception of some stiffness in sliding the
zoom...especially from 210 to 70. Is this a common problem to this brand &
series? Is there a remedy for this that won't harm the lens?
As to other zooms...well, since you guys don't seem too shy about
expressing opinions feel free to express.
