If there are two types how can they be told apart? Serial numbers, difference in chassis design? I'm interested......!

no, only the older, unmodified type will take much longer to recycle, even
with new alkalines.

I wasn't aware there were two types. Apart from the recycle time, can they

If it is the newer type, that is an excellent deal.  Older versions take
a
long time to recycle.
