If you are correct, then there is a striking correlation between the lens element design factors that produce pleasing bokeh and the use of higher numbers of aperture blades in the same lens.

If that is the case, the number of aperture blades is still a good predictor of likely bokeh in Zuikos.

I believe number of aperture leave is only a small factor, unless you really
need a circle OOF light spot, the major one is the lens element design.
