Try acetone (prefferably reagent grade). It works great on my
telescope mirrors, but don't get any on paint or plastic. Don't use
rubbing alcohol - it has lubricants added that can leave a residue.
If you use alcohol it should be pure grade isopropyl alcohol - hard
to find, but can be had at scientific supply houses.
