Much fun. But I think one concern isn't about losing sync due to the speed of light over a couple of feet. The concern is about the consistency of the timing in the electronics in the remote optical synch modules. If all triggered essentially at once, as you have shown, what variability is there in the time it takes them to trigger the flash?
