As Moose said, a standard washer could slip when the camera is in portrait mode 
(assuming no tripod collar for lens), because the long lens will make the 
camera very front-heavy.  And I don't like to crank down too hard on the QR 
plate screw (to prevent slippage), 'cause that could damage something.
