My brother lent me his 4X Schneider loupe once and I have to admit it just killed my 50/1.8 loupe.

Some while ago there was a su*bscriber to the list who was in the publishing or printing business. He said that he had tried many high end loupes but had found none better than a reversed Zuiko 50/1.8 MC.

I use a reversed 50/1.4 SC and find it to be good enough for my purposes but do wonder what the above mentioned gem would be like.

Perhaps those of you who have good loupes and a 50/1.8 MC could do a comparison and give us your thoughts as to whether the anecdote holds true.

I have several cheap loupes, use a B&L 10x Hastings Triplet to look closer and then there is the microscope.......... I also have, sort of, this amazing 'loupe' I inherited from a guy who used to do specialized photography and processing for me. He used to be an aerial photo interpreter in WWII and made a translucent sleeve to hold a huge eyepiece off some piece of military equipment. Huge flat, sharp to the edges field of view. The sleeve/stand came unglued and I put it somewhere 'til I get around to fixing it, and now I don't know where it is
