Nice description, Dizel.

Discussion and links here <http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/bokeh.html>
Some careful explanation and examples here
<http://www.darkroom.com/MiscDocs/bokeh.pdf>The images C.H. just posted give a great practical example. One can look at all of them but the 50-250/5, see subtle differences and mentally say 'so what's the big deal?', then click on the 50-250/5 and KNOW what bad bokeh is. That one makes my eyes feel funny, like they don't quite want to really look at it and I feel edgy.

If it doesn't do that to you, then you need 'bokeh sensitization' to enhance your photographic equipment compulsiveness and general photographic pickiness. ;-)

Great examples, C.H., a real contribution. Are all shot at 200mm except the 180mm and 75-150? I'd say the 75-150 is my favorite by a tiny margin. Could that be at least partially because of the different camera to background distance due to the shorter focal length? Maybe I need to actually try out that 75-150 that I got in a group purchase. :-)
