What the seller did was probably legal as far as the EBAY rules go. He is
probably buying the fake stuff from a distributor. Just something to watch
for if you see a very high shipping price and a favorable buying price. He
also wanted to charge me a restocking fee but I talked him out of that.
These fake garments look good but usually are not the expensive material.
Some of them could be inspection rejects I suppose. Common indicators are
wrong zippers, spelling errors on embroidered decorations, sizing off, and
different pocket configurations. /jim

I believe North Face has much of its gear made in China ... it might not
have been imported legally but it might have been the real stuff. When
I was in Beijing I picked up a couple Gore-Tex jackets at about $50
each. I suspect the manufacturing employees boost their income
significantly. But just guessing and still happy with the jackets four
years later ...
