As I now have a 35-105/2.8 Tamron SP also, the reason for choosing the
Zuiko is not the lens speed or other performance criteria. The Zuiko has a
"close focus" feature and the Tamron does not. The Zuiko can be used to
make quasi-macros which I've found quite useful in a pinch when I don't
have the extension tubes and several primes (primarily the 85/2 and 135/2.8).
