I am a bit late replying...

I have the Tamron SP Model 19AH 70-210mm f3.5, and can strongly recommend
it. Gary Reese's tests gave it high marks. It is a significantly cheaper
lens compared to the 80-200 f2.8, and is also a good deal more compact. It
also has a lens hood system that varies to match the zoom focal length. The
Tamron SP 60-300 has more range, but the constant f3.5 of the 70-210 gives
more light and makes focussing significantly easier (I have both).

Hello all,

I am currently looking for an affordable tele or tele-zoom.
Range should be min. 200mm with decent aperture (f4 or less).
I have not heard many good comments about the Zuiko 200/4.
So here are some other candidates, all very similar :
- Tokina 70-210 f3.5 RMC
- Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f3.5
- Tamron 70-210 f3.5 SP
I am a little inclined towards the Tamron because of the Adaptall system.
Macro possibilities are not important for me, I have other lenses for that
purpose.
Is there much difference between these 3 lenses ?
Is there one highly recommended, or one to be avoided ?

Thanks and regards
