Ouch. Sorry to hear that.

Yes to all those things. The OM-2S is not as fast with a
motor however if you like to show in continuous mode.

I would certainly bite or byte (whichever), as that would
be a very nice trade for me.

The stock flash indicator in the viewfinder runs off the
camera batteries. There is a conversion for the OM-2S if
you don't like that, though it is no worse than the OM-4 in
this respect. (There's no conversion possibility for the
OM-4.)

The OM-2(N) is much more likely to be able to be worked on
in the future (parts-wise), as I understand it, than the OM-
2S. The OM-2S had a reputation for failures, but I have
the feeling the failures have been out of the market for a
long time. The OM-2S also has a reputation as a battery
user, but this is a relative thing, and largely exaggerated
by online snowballism.

I have a problem sometimes in that I get a more positive
connection with a Shoe 4 than with the OM-2S shoe. The
latter offers a couple angstroms more clearance and allows
a couple of my flashes to come out of contact on verticals.

Much as I'd like to trade you -- I'd recommend getting a
new Shoe 4 and staying with the OM-2N, particularly if the
issue is usefulness for flash work.
