I thought it was ugly too until I carried it for a couple of days.  It's a very 
easy to use camera with contours and controls that fall very naturally under 
the hands; i.e., VERY German. If you shoot a lot, overall handling will shine 
through.  I did not like the wind lever though, and I liked it better with the 
winder.

In general, it's a great camera that was introduced 10 years too late.

It is quite large for an SLR, OTOH.
