i don't know if it is a "best" zoom lens, but the Viv 28-90/2.8-3.5 has
exceeded my expectations for a $75 lens! not quite as sharp as a Zuiko on
slide film, but it sings on print film - especially with these new digital
printers that favor a bit more sharpening. the only draw back is that it is
a beast! as compared with a 35-105/2.8 Tamron it is certainly a billy club.
quite long, but very easy to use.
i rather like the varifocal design as i usually am obsessive about accurate
focus anyway....
