That's been my experience buying used equipment from them also but -
Y'all may remember me mentioning several weeks ago that one of my OM-4
bodies was acting up. In Auto mode it fires at ~1/30 second no matter the
light level or f stop setting. It even fires at ~1/30 with the lens cap
on. Well, Clint and John seem to be backed up with work and another List
member said that he'd had good results using KEH for lens cleaning so I
decided to try them on my malfunctioning body. Their facility is about 20
miles from where I live but I decided to use USPS instead of dropping it by
- mailed it to them on 5/15/03 and received it back on 5/22/03. I was
ecstatic about the great service! The invoice said that they'd replaced
the foam, repaired the shutter and the meter, cleaned, lubed, and adjusted
it to good working order. Only problem was that it worked same as when I
sent it in - 1/30 shutter speed in Auto no matter what. I decided to go
talk to them face-to-face and went by there this morning. The young lady
at the Customer Service desk seemed to be rather unconcerned with what had
happened but did write up another work order and said that they'd get it
fixed right away and ship it back out to me. I'll yet y'all know the final
outcome.
