Well, it wasn't a complete washout..!
Finally ended up at Findhorn Beach, watching the haar (sea fog) roll in and
roll out again. There was a reasonable crowd, some with fancy gear, others
just there to witness the spectacle.
The weather rather spoiled the climax of the show, annularity wasn't visible
from the beach. We headed up to the military base at Kinloss and managed to
catch quite a bit of the event, some minutes after the maximum. There was a
fair amount of thin cloud and mist dulling the sun down to quite acceptable
levels.
I rattled off ten or so OM2n exposures with a 300/4.5, Teleplus 2x Macro
converter and Vivitar 1.5x converter, stopped down to about f/8 on the 300.
All mounted on a Manfrotto 055NAT with 460 magnesium head.
If I get anything, I'll post 'em.
