I was curious, so I looked it up -- if it's new, it's the 800/5.6 (which is
a manual focus lens, which is pretty funny if you ask me), but that's only
21" long, and the one in the picture looks bigger (and a different shape,
come to think of it, unless he has some sort of protective cover on it).
There's also a 1200/11, but that wouldn't have a front element that big,
it's only a bit longer than the Zuiko 1000/11 and that's only 110mm across.
Possibly it's the 1200-1700 5.6-8 zoom?
Ha! if you search google for 'nikon lenses list', the _third_ hit is from
this very mailing list..
