Stupid Ebay buyers?
It won't be the last time that people are seduced by marketing, false claims of
scarcity, greed, or stupidity to bid more than an item is actually worth. I've
seen many, many instances on the site where buyers purchase NIB goods for
20-50% more than they could buy it for at retail or from an internet-based
vendor. I guess that they're too stupid to realize that they should actually
do some research before plunking down their cash.
The flipside is that most of those transactions I mention were <$100, so the
damage is very limited.
