To turn the beeper off on OM-3s, you push the switch under the asa dial towards the front of the camera.

On a 3-Ti, that lever switches the flash modes of the camera (x / ttl). However, when you operate that lever while holding the battery check button pressed, you toggle the beeper function.

bests,

Three good points? I see an a) and a b), but........

Reminds me.

There are three kinds of people in the world.
Those that can count and those that can't.

Three good points omitted from my posting.

In addition:
(a) Frequent use of the viewfinder illuminator in low lighting situations
significantly reduces battery life. I've chewed up some batteries in an
OM-2S using this feature to check shutter speed while shooting available
light in dimly lit blues clubs.
(b) Leaving the audible "beeper" on also consumes power; how much I don't
know. I turned them OFF on both an OM-2S and OM-4 when I bought them.

For

those without the manual, rotating the self-timer switch in the opposite
direction as you would to activate the self-timer turns the audible

beeping

off. This applies to the OM-2S, OM-4 and OM-4T with electronic
self-timers. Don't know about the OM-3[ti].
