I think there's something really special about an aircraft that has a
provision, as it was related to me by a pilot, for adding engine oil from
the cockpit while in flight.

I wonder if the designers added that feature after Oz's Kingsford Smith
pioneered the first Pacific flight. It was in a Ford Trimotor from memory
and one of the engines developed an oil leak. Another member of the
three-man crew crawled out on the wing and transferred oil from one of the
other engines in a teacup. Gutsy stuff.
