1. The Canon 0.95 lens made for LTM cameras isn't a particularly good lens,
being VERY soft wide open and with mediocre resolving power, even at normal
apertures. It's really a collector's lens. It's also VERY hard to focus at
full aperture, and why buy it if you don't use it wide open? Remember, it's a
rangefinder lens, so you don't look through it.

2. The 90/1 lens made by Midland in Ontario, Canada (formaly E.Leitz) was a
specialized optic for taking nighttime pictures from an aircraft as set
altitudes. It's not usable for general photography without lots of tinkering.

Yes, I've also seen that article on the 50/0.7 that Kubrick used. Many of the
ultra high-speed lenses made for the 35mm market have been adapted for the cine
market over the past 30 years. The Canon 50/.95 was a favorite to be
converted. Since the frame size of the cine was the same 24x36mm, they were
perfect for achieving the shallow DOF that particular, anal-retentive directors
wanted. They're now collectors lenses, IMO.

If you want a high-speed lens to use, buy a 50/1.2 Zuiko.
