Jan,

I'm not sure what it is, but go look again at the item on John's site at 
http://www.zuiko.com/olympus_digital_slr.htm.

The item in question definitely has VERY different sized front and rear 
mounting flanges; with the rear flange that looks very similar to the zoom lens 
to the right of the body.  So what else could it be for, if not an OM-System 
mount?

It looks like it has lens elements.
