 One interesting thing -- looking at the cropped centre portions, if you
look at the white/blue building in the middle right, the Velvia does have
more detail on the lettering, but _less_ detail on the rectangular pattern
of tiles/blocks/whatever around the lettering. I think this is the grain in
the film showing up and overpowering the relatively subtle distinction --
but it's definitely visible on the 10D shot. The same thing happens on the
other white/blue building in the bottom left, too.

 I think this is what people are talking about when they say digitals are
'better than' film -- if you enlarged the Velvia shot to an enormous size,
the grain would probably be noticeable enough to overcome the improved
resolution -- the 10D shot may have less detail there, but it'll enlarge
without grain showing up, which may be better for some purposes.
