I would *not* use a Motor Drive if it is unnecessary.
I was amazed to see that the focussing on my 50/1.4 is so smooth that
with MD running an OM1 (with mirror locked up) the vibration was enough
to move focussing point from infinity to about 20 meters within three
frames.
