When do you find it to be exactly what you need? When water droplets are involved, for example? (You're right, I'm not enthusiastic about using it all the time -- takes all the fun out of a 2-series screen.)

Since the thing gobbles up about 4 stops' worth of light -- two
going out and two coming back -- I suggest you do as I do and use
it only when it's really needed.  It severely limits your distance
and f/stop choices.  Besides, occasionally, it produces some
strange looking results.  Because of all these things, I don't use
mine very often.  Sometimes, though, it's exactly what you need.
