If you want to learn more there's a book called 'Larn Yersel Geordie' which will have you conversing with real Geordies in no time!

It's an interesting dialect actually, lots of very old Anglo-Saxon words as well as some influence from Welsh (apparently the North-East used to be populated by Welsh speakers, and certainly the accents are not dissimilar), and quite a lot from Old Norse. Nightmarish for outsiders to understand though, that's for sure.
