You've got your brackets wrong.
C = 5/9 * (F-32)
F = (C * 5/9) + 32
If you're ever stuck trying to remember where the brackets go, you can
always remember things like -40 C = -40 F and 0 C = 32 F. I find going by
freezing points is the easiest way. In your equation, 32 F would
equal -14.2222 C.
