Just wondering how many times he messed up over the years perfecting that
maneuver?     ;)

I have some not totally embarrassing shots of shipping in san fran bay,
including ones of the cranes going under the bay bridge last year, with the
specially built boats to carry them, designed so that they could submerge
the "deck" and clear the span at low tide by a few feet....  since they were
taken with either a 2n or 4T, there's  some actual OM content on this
thread!!!   if i ever get the scanning/posting/hosting end of things
together i'll post those...

I've always been amazed at what people did in the oar and sail days...  the
replica of the Endeavour has been schlepping around the world for a few
years, and i really want to do one of the legs on her at some point...
almost booked for a hawaii to tahiti leg (or vice versa) a year or so back,
and regret that i didn't...   she's at Harwich, UK right now, and open to
the public if anyone in the neighbourhood is so inclined:
