I suppose I'm being both provincial and antiquated by using such
obscure examples. Most folks in the US of A who aren't ashamed to
admit to watching a bit of TV now and then, particularly sports
events, have seen that annoying duck that quacks "Aflac" during
insurance commercials.
And, to show my great age, Gunella (sp?) Knudsen (why do I still
remember her name?) was a lithesome, super-sexy Scandinavian
blonde who did commercials for Noxzema shaving cream many years
ago, breathlessly urging us guys to lather up and "Take it off.
Take it all off."
Sorry. I?ll try to live more in the here and now and resist
drifting off into the fog of yesteryear.
