Printing from digital is WHAT? More expensive than film? This is a joke, right?
And plenty of stock work is being done at 5mgp.

Unlikely. I don't really know how I would operate with it: for stock
photography I need more pixels, for my mono I want the pleasure of
printing (and making mistakes...) and for family photography I want
prints. Digital cannot do any of this for me - and printing from
digital is still more expensive than film.
