Thomas,

First of all I'm probably not just speaking for myself when I say,
"Thanks for taking on such a thankless task!"

And to add a couple of =80's ;>) (digest joke)

First of all perhaps "disturbed" is not the correct English term to
describe my feelings toward html/mime etc. More correctly a minor
annoyance that detracts from the legibility of the digest. I am very
glad to hear that demime will be running soon.

Secondly, and from the digest perspective. html isn't the biggest
problem. People are generally pretty good about posting in plain text
when they can. And I don't mind wading through a bit of html from the
aol posters rather than loose their input. The biggest problem for the
digest is the excessive quoting which html only exacerbates. Therefore I
urge you to implement what some other newsgroups have which is to limit
the quoted text to no more that the message text. This would also help
clarify to which part of the preceding thread the poster was responding.
As some of these threads evolve it is nigh impossible for a digester to
follow. Frankly a few lately at the height of the "snit" went straight
into the trash. Anyway, for me limiting quotes would do most for those
of us who must use the digest. Also I think it would improve the
usability of the archives.

Thanks again and go get back in the water,
Mike
