THANKS.  I will research it,  but I do have a Minolta Scan dual II right now 
and it is OK for the money, but has proven to be mechanically fragile.

As CH suggested, have a look at the reviews for the Minolta Dimage Scan 
Elite 5400 before making your mind up.  It is cheaper and may be as 
good...
