And yet....... Both Gary and Walt testify to great, sharp pics taken with them, albeit with difficulty. So it seems worthwhile to answer the original question with as much detail as possible to allow the potential buyer to judge the difficulties and potential rewards for himself.

The fact that I may find it very difficult to make good images with paints and brushes doesn't seem to have to deterred others from doing so. And it doesn't seem to bother many of them that it takes many tries to get a good result. "Real world" performance depends o both performer and tools.
