Yes, I agree - I had assumed he meant an Olympus agent (official? Nah!) in
Germany, and had meant 'honest' to refer to the condition, which is clearly
neither original nor good.

I'm not sure how to interpret what they're saying, but you can be quite
certain that the factory would not paint a white lens black.  Perhaps some
Olympus repair centre did the work for a customer, but the factory wouldn't
ship out something looking like that.  To suggest that the Olympus factory
did the work is misleading.
