Any click you might hear between 1/60 and 1/30 on an OM-2/2N has nothing to
do with flash sync switches. X sync and safety switches are set the same way
every time the shutter is wound, no matter where the shutter speed dial is
set.

 The safety switch (which prevents x firing above 60) opens when the second
curtain starts to move.  X sync fires when first curtain gets all the way
across.  If the second curtain moves before the first curtain gets across,
the safety switch opens and, even though the x switch closes, flash can't
fire because safety has opened.
