Moose, thanks for replying.

I kind of have the feeling that if I can get the spot/highlight/lowlight
thing in my head, then it will help me with the latitude of my slide film,
which I shoot exclusively for colour. This is around what, 5 stops?

So spot hi and spot low giving a range outside this, I can decide I maybe
need ND grad to tone down the highlights (or some other workaround)?

I remember there being a discussion about the Oly meter system and AA and
the Zone System (I do shoot occasional B+W). It's using the multi-spot and
hi-lo capability sensibly and, dare I say it, cleverly, that I'd like to
work on.

I have the hard copy of the 'Creative Photography' booklet, and the pdf of
the Manual. Sorry, I didn't phrase it very well, brochures indeed!

I did find something in the archives of another group about this,
tantalising little glimpses here and there. I think they also said there was
a C*n*n with spot, Hilight and Shadow capability. Probably not
sophisticated, though (it's C*n*n, after all).
