The US Customs folks also tack on a nice little fee for some shipments from
Germany. You might get that bill several months after receiving the item.

Don't know, but I bought a lens fairly cheaply from a seller in Germany,
his shipping charges almost doubled the price, *then* I had to organise
a transfer to his bank account (expensive). Lesson learned !
