Just watched a "60 Minutes II" episode wherein it was revealed that within
the Sinatra archives are reels upon reels of 35mm film of Sinatra
performances. Sinatra knew that the old kinescopes would not stand up to
the test of time, so had 35mm film shot of some of his performances. They
have been "rotoscoped." What the heck is that? Digitally restored,
scratches removed, etc. All B&W, but some color added, in places. It's
been put together into a show which opens at Radio City Music Hall in a
couple weeks. Damn I'd like to be there!
Magic. History. "The Voice" is back! Oh boy.
35mm... gotcha thinkin'???
