Coo lumme John H, that's a difficult one! The only suggestion that I
can make, as a very unlikely idea, is that somehow you got the ISO
setting wrong on the Sekonic... yes, unlikely I know. However, I use a
308BII which invites me to use the wrong ISO quite easily.

No, the Sekonic was correctly set. ISO setting "1" was at 100 ISO and
setting "2" was at 40 ISO to reflect the ~ 1 1/3 stop over exposure to
compensate for the circular polarizer. I was particularly careful not to
read off setting "1" when the polarizer was mounted.
