Did they say on what grounds they wanted the picture removed. Is it because they have not publicly announced its existence yet or because it's an unofficial image? Is the image displayed on the dealer website?

My guess is that they're in denial about it until the E-1 goes on sale and they see what the response is like. I guess they don't want to risk flattening sales of the new lenses (particularly the longer ones) with customers opting to buy the body only to try with old Zuikos + MA-1. Still very strange behaviour though. I talked to a representative of Olympus Switzerland on Saturday who was promoting the E-System with a pre-production model and a couple of lenses and he claimed to know nothing at all about the adapter.

I agree that third parties will decide to cash in on the demand themselves if Olympus is too sluggish.

Cheers,
Duncan.

Yes, and as a follow up to THAT I must add that yesterday I was politely
asked by Olympus America to remove the pictures of the MA-1 adapter from my
website.

I offered my opinion that if they decided to not sell the adapter they would
be telling their LOYAL customers to "go away" and that many would go to
Nikon and Canon if for no other reason than spite. Also, not selling the
adapter, they might as well just kick themselves in the nuts for all the
good it'll do. How long before Tamron or Tokina come out with the adapter,
anyway?!
