Well no, not funny at all. M & S had high connections in the British Jewish
establishment with Lord Sief, one time chairman of the board, being a member
of that establishment. The advice I got was received wisdom at the time and
probably remains so today. Should one fall prey to any "unfriendlies" I
doubt that you would want to be seen to be supporting, or to be perceived to
be supporting, the "other side" by virtue of the clothes one wears.
