I've got one of these with the typically hazy element toward the
rear, which looks like crap with a flashlight (electric torch to
some of you) shining up through the lens. It looks almost like a
piece of frosted glass. But, strangely enough, it doesn't seem to
have much effect on the pictures. Since I came into possession of
a Tamron 80-200/2.8, I haven't used it all that much, but it's
still part of my "if I fall in the river and lose everything" kit.
