It is for me too, since December 2001 when some financial disaster occured
in Argentina; but might be a good chance for people earning their income in
USD, euro or GBP, since currency in Argentina Brazil and Uruguay became
cheap. Maybe not so much in Chile.
From a tourist point of view, either country is amazingly beautiful. As I
said before, I can't understand why do people (having the means) from
southern Brazil, whole Argentina, Paraguay and even Chile come to our
beaches during the summer.
You'll be welcomed when you wish. I take my holidays during February but may
take them on January next year, still not decided. Be prepared to pay fuel
at 1 litre = 1 USD. That's tough. Food, hotel and anything else far less
than you're used to.
