I think I saw something posted on the bulletin board at the Ozark Natural
Food Cooperative (Fayetteville, AR) when I was there today -- house on 5
acres, stream, berry bushes, fruit trees, etc. There was a photo and it
looked interesting, and it was not a trailer. I didn't pay much attention
to it at the time. The point is that one can find some nice, albeit
sometimes isolated, places in the hills around here for not very much money.
Homes right in Fayetteville are expensive. This is a prosperous and
beautiful area, with a major university, good schools, good medical
facilities, lots of canoeing and hiking, and no corn. However, having grown
up in Illinois, I can't imagine how one wouldn't like corn fields. There is
little street crime here. And lots of photo opportunities!! That said, as
soon as our kids are out of school, we might move to Colorado or New Mexico,
since this is a bad area for allergies. We will also spend 3-4 months in
Italy each year, where photo opportunities are endless.

Check out the Ozarks in Arkansas and southern Missouri. Beautiful fast,
clean, clear rivers, streams, and lakes and green, rolling hills. It is
beautiful all year round and the fireflys in the summer outdo the heavens..
