Can these cards be damaged while in transit? e.g. barcode scanners etc.
I just received a SanDisk 64mg card and cannot upload to it. Card was
NIB and part of an auction purchase. I have reformated and the card
utility says OK but it does not store data. A partial scan of the card
identifies quite a few bad clusters and the scan does not finish. But I
thought a format, like with a hard drive, would identify and exclude bad
clusters as a matter of routine? The seller is quite willing to replace
the card if defective but i want to eliminate the possibility of the
device itself (a GPS not a camera, sorry, this is totally OT) as the
problem.

Thanks,
MIke
