I live in Southwewst Florida and my experiance is similar to Mark Jennings'.
In a county of 500,000 population, there is one independent camera store and
one chain camera store (Ritz).   All of the rest of the cameras are sold
through electronics retailers like B*st Bye, Circus Citee, Sounds Adverse,
Office Departs, Office Mess and, you get the picture.   Camera retailing has
gone the way of electronics retailing.  We all have accounts at B&H.

Oly has a long way to go to market the E-1 system as "pro" gear.  Compared
to semi-pro gear, I think the E-1 system is expensive.  Apparently others
do, as well.   These days, Florida is actually a very accurate microcosm of
America, in general (sad, but true) ;-).

Retailing here is what retailing will be like in the much of the rest of the
country within ten years.  Don't say we didn't warn you.
